The Consultation
Mr Erdmann consults on Monday mornings at the BUPA Hospital Washington in Washington, Tyne and Wear.
In general referrals should be via your GP, but self-referrals are also seen. Your GP is usually copied into all correspondence, but if you particularly do not wish your GP to be informed, please let Mr Erdmann know at the consultation.
The consultation period averages 30 minutes. You will be seen by Mr Erdmann personally who will also carry out the surgery himself. A full history will be taken, and any potential problems identified. The examination will be relevant and thorough, and clinical measurements may include height and weight (for BMI calculations) and body measurements. Digital photographs will be taken. Please mention any regular medication that you may be taking, as well as any complementary medications such as Gingko Biloba , St John's Wort or Vitamin E, as these may have have blood thinning properties or may interfere with drugs which may need to be given.
The proposed surgical procedure will be explained together with illustrative leaflets and photographs shown.
Digital morphing is a technique whereby a digital photograph showing the anatomical area to be altered can be demonstrated in real-time on a computer screen to simulate the efftecs of surgery. The software is extremely powerful and is particularly useful for simulating the results for rhinoplasty, liposuction, scar surgery, breast reduction and facial surgery. As the procedure is time-intensive please mention this at the beginning of the consultation if you wish to undergo a simulation. Please note that this is not however a guarantee of a particular outcome, merely an indicator to patient and surgeon of the degree of change required. |
