Follow Up after reconstructive or cosmetic surgery

You will be reviewed by Mr Erdmann for your initial followup depending on your procedure. Sutures for an eyelid operation for example are usually removed at only 4-5 days whereas surgery to the hand may require sutures to be left in for 10 days.

The majority of surgery is carried out with absorbable stitches which do not need removal, but the wound will be checked on at approximately 10 days after surgery.

Occasionally a further 3 months appointment is offered to ensure that a satisfactory result has been achieved, as tissues often need this amount of time to regain stability.

Any problems requiring further surgery or medication occuring within one month after surgery and directly related to the surgery are covered for in an Inclusive Care package.

Additionally the first appointment at 10 days after surgery and at 3 months (if necessary) are also free of charge.
